Bittersweet Autumn

  1. I loves fall. It's my favorite time of year, hands down. I hope I get to go to an orchard or corn maze this year.

  2. I love your blog Ruth Ann, and especially the retrofit of the pink chair. I'm a bargain hunter from way back too.

However, I can't read your blog. The black background and not white enough printing makes it hard to see.

  3. oooh! beautiful pics! i love autumn soooo much! i DID plant white pumpkins this year, but i think they all died, because all the pumpkins i can see are still orange and green and jumbled together... :)
(and not to sound annoying, but anne's really right. the color of the text against the black really hurts my eyes.)

  4. Your suggestions are appreciated.
Vic, I decided against pumpkins this year due to having a squash bug destroy almost all of my plants last year. I have heard that pumpkins do really well the following year if you leave of few in the patch but they will take over that's for sure, and come back in places you may not want. In other words they like to sleep alone ;)

  5. ohman! it's been like an epic battle against squash bugs this way! but i sprinkle the seven dust all over those pun'kins like a sadistic fairy and laugh maniacally knowing that they will meet their doom soon!
    mwhahahahaaaaa!!!!
all we have planted is pumpkins this year. we aren't very good at growing things, but the pumpkins HAVE taken over everything, the patch is like three times as large as we thought it would be, and it looks all wild and messy and half-dead... i kinda sorta love it! :)

  6. Sprinkle, my friend, sprinkle away! Those pun'kins are far to valuable to meet there demise in any way other than chuckin' or munchin'! I hope to devote my entire garden to a variety of pumpkins next year. I have done small pie pumpkins before and will do those again but want to add white, blue and red ones to the mix.
