Hey everyone, I’m back! So much has happened since I last blogged and I’m so excited to share. We prettied up our home and figured maybe we should try to see if it will sell. The market has been great and we were ready for a fresh start.
Our real estate journey was a long one. We wanted to get the most out of our home as possible so we listed it ourselves, which was a definite learning experience but did not prove successful. Maybe it was the wrong place at the wrong time sort of situation but after taking the home off the market for the winter and enjoying the snowy months as well as fitting in a nice family vacation to Iceland - totally another blog post to come- we decided to go the realtor route and two weeks later were accepting an offer and one step closer to our end goal, The House with the Black Silver-lining. Why the name? Well, it’s actually simple, I wanted a black and white house, mostly black.
Where are we today? Well, sadly, I’m still waiting for the ground breaking for the new home but we have closed on our previous home sale, moved out, have a plan and mostly everything picked out. We are current renters temporarily until we can get into the nonexistent house.
Coming from the country it’s been a huge adjustment for this family of “six” when you include our fur babies. Being a born city girl I didn’t think it would be that much of an issue moving to town temporarily......boy was I wrong! Fifteen years in the country really set on deep roots and I am in major culture shock. I miss my yard and my garden and my peace and quiet! My garage parking, my 3 bathrooms, my windows and my kitchen. I really could go on and on but I won’t, better things are to come, better things are to come, better things are to come!
I can’t wait to share our journey, we’ve already had quite the adventure and they say building a home puts the biggest strain on a family and its been interesting. But despite the fights and frustration my builder/husband is a rockstar, I really hope he doesn’t crack because he has really been stretched thin these days but like they say, “this too shall pass”. My summer motto is - This is only temporary - let’s hope that is true. *wink*wink
