Yes, I know I should be going to the gym but after running around this morning to Dr. appointments and milk runs I think I just want to stay home and work on my garage project.  The dust and grime on the walls, shelves and floors are insane and I need to take advantage of my days off before the snow comes and makes any project impossible.  How are you spending your day?

Locker progress

Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011:
I got the first coat of the Red on and an am lovin' it!  This project is a long one but so far I am happy with the outcome so far.  I spend a few hours yesterday putting it all back together with Nate and put the final coat of paint on.  Now to work on the next step of the garage makeover.  I will not be posting the lockers put together until the entire project is complete so stay tuned and have a wonderful day. ;)

I went through 4 cans of primer and still have a lot left to go. Apparently I underestimated how much I was going to need. So I guess it's back to Menard's to buy more paint. Ugh. This is going to take forever but at least the lockers will look good hopefully.  And since I was heading to Menard's I decided I was going to change my color choice...not a huge change but the Candy Apple Red was just too bright so I returned the eight cans I hadn't used and bought 10 Colonial Red cans...no more changes (I say to myself, as if I would listen, ha!) And got 4 more cans of primer so far one set of three lockers used 7 cans of primer.  I'm thinking the other set may not get a redo.

Garage Entry Organization Project : the Lockers

So I finally ended up buying my paint for the lockers I picked up on C.L.  After a lot of thinking and asking and going back in forth on colors I decided on Apple Red- Rustoleum, Menard's in running a sale 2 for $5 and well, now was as good a time as any to start my stocking up because I have no clue how much paint I'm gonna go through for these babies.  I decided to start on just one section of three to see how much paint I would need...so far it took me literally all day to take it apart, scrap and sand the rust and washed most of the pieces, ugh.  I'm not sure how long this process is going to take but I'm worn out already!  Hopefully, it won't be too much longer before I can get them put back together all shiny and new and stylish.  But until then I may be on a BLOG hiatus.
Until next post (hopefully a garage redo finale)  Happy Blogging! XOXO

Rhonda's Chair

So, I received a chair from my boss and blog-reader Rhonda and of course couldn't resist the redo opportunity.  I ordered these three fabrics not sure which one I wanted to use and decided on the gray birds.  I had to do some rearranging in my room to make it work but am so excited to get in all done.  I started with sanding it down I put a coat of primer.  While waiting for the primer to dry I tackled the cushion, not a hard project at all.  Added a couple coats of spray paint and waited for it to dry.  Always unsure I'm gonna like the color or not I hymned and hawed wondering if I should go a shade brighter or add third coat to ensure the best coverage- something I should have done with the "pink" chair but rushed myself too much.  I am in the process of using the blue bird print to make a pillow cover for my wicker settee and I have some faux fur pillows in my bedroom I am going to bring done to my family room for fall/winter. I also changed up my curtains.

Stick Straight!

Organix Brazilian Keratin Therapy 30 Day Smoothing TreatmentOkay I don't usually like photos of myself but I had to tell all about this amazing new hair product find.  There I was at the doctor's office for my weekly allergy shot (yeah, not fun at all) and they actually had some currently magazines.  Good Housekeeping summer/fall issue not sure what month but they had Organix Brazilian Keratin Therapy (http://www.drugstore.com/organix-brazilian-keratin-therapy-30-day-smoothing-treatment/qxp336549?catid=183459&tab=1#1) and might I say it is an amazing product.  Now if you have frizzy, curly, unruly hair then you should try this but proceed with caution.  Although I love how it has straighten my hair it does have an interesting smell (read some Drugstore.com reviews)  but since using it I have gotten tons of compliments on how nice my hair looks. It does deliver straight, non-frizzed, shiny results, I still have to flat iron but it takes half the time to do it and last really, really long.  But remember to follow the directions to a tee and do not over saturate your hair because the results will not be fun at all.  But the smell which Nate says  is like burnt popcorn (not attractive) is annoying but isn't as bad when hair is dry and I don't mind maybe it will keep the people away!  Hahaha!

Even a BLOG needs a makeover.

I've heard your "peepers" pleas and have decided to acquiesce your request.  I loved the way the black background made the images pop and I have to admit I was told early on that black can be hard on the eyes when reading.  So, I have given Chic Pea Pod a makeover and after all who doesn't love a good makeover.  I hope my readers are happy and feel free to give me any more helpful suggestions because I am a Blogging newbie and can use all the help I can get.
Thank you all and have a wonderful Autumn!
